Terms and conditions
Terms and conditions for MasterClass 11+ course
Fees and payment schedule:
1. The registration fee (deposit) covers the cost of a full assessment and is not refundable. However, the registration fee is deducted from the full cost of the course once a child is accepted. If a child is not accepted on the course for whatever reason, no refund of the deposit will be made.2. The course fees are payable in four stages. The first payment is due on 1st July of the year in which the child is starting the course. If a payment is not made by this date, it will be assumed that the place on the course is no longer required and the place will be offered to a child on the waiting list. Subsequent payments are due on the following 1st December, 1st March and 1st June. Parents are required to set up standing orders with their bank to ensure that these payments are made on time. If a payment is not made on time, the child may be barred from attending classes and/or may not be given new materials until such time as the payment is made. If a payment is not made on time, parents will be required to pay the whole of the outstanding course fee immediately.

Delivery and collection of your child:
3. It is the parents' responsibility to ensure that their child is delivered and collected safely and on time from the teaching venue. MasterClass11+ cannot accept any responsibility for a child once he or she has left the classroom. Please ensure that your child is neither delivered too early for a class nor collected late. Parents should aim to deliver their child to the class ten minutes before the official start time so we can deal with administration, collect homework and so on without such activities eating into the precious teaching time. Please be on time to pick up your child at the end of the class as we often spend a few minutes at that time giving parents a debrief or making important announcements.
Homework:
4. It is the parents' responsibility to ensure that they are aware of their child’s homework programme and that this is firmly adhered to. Parents are expected to sign the homework sheet to indicate that all the elements of the homework have been completed. Homework for the following week will be emailed to parents normally on a Friday morning so that it is available immediately after the weekend classes. Parents are expected to have a printer so that they can print off copies of the homework programme to sign and return.
Swapping of classes:
5. Arranging for a child to swap a class is enormously time-consuming for us administratively so there is no swapping of classes. No refund shall be given for any classes that have not been attended. Should a child be unable to attend his or her normal class, the homework programme will still have been emailed on the previous Friday. It may be the responsibility of the parent to collect any new materials such as books.
Behaviour:
6. MasterClass11+ reserves the right to remove a child from a class or from the remainder of the course in the event of his or her behaviour being disruptive or causing a nuisance to other children or to the teacher, or if his or her attitude to homework or during the lessons is regularly negative. In this case, a pro-rata refund will be given after deducting the price of classes already attended, materials used and an administration fee. Parents must return all materials previously handed out in these circumstances.
Illness:
7. If a child is ill, particularly if suffering from an infectious or contagious disease, he or she should not attend the class. It is not fair on the child, on the other children or on the teacher.
Copyright:
8. Unless otherwise stated, the copyright and all other intellectual property rights in all course materials provided by Masterclass11+, including Verbal Reasoning course books, all worksheets and vocabulary lists are owned by MasterClass11+. All MasterClass11+ materials are protected by copyright and may not be photographed, copied, passed on to third parties, nor used for any purpose other than the teaching of the child registered for the course. Any infringement of the intellectual property rights of Masterclass11+ will result in a child being withdrawn immediately from the course and no refund of course fees shall be payable. All MasterClass11+ materials shall be returned to MasterClass11+ immediately upon request and in any event at the end of the course.
Detrimental activity:
9. In the unlikely event that any parent, whether directly or indirectly, engages in, or is suspected of engaging in, any activity which Masterclass11+ deems in its absolute discretion to be detrimental to its business or endangering the health and safety of pupils, teachers or other users of the venues, his or her child will be dismissed immediately from the course and no refund of course fees shall be payable.
Reservation of rights:
10. MasterClass11+ reserves the right to amend its course material, teaching dates and length of lessons to accommodate where possible any changes to the 11+ exams. MasterClass11+ accepts no responsibility for short notice to changes given by the grammar schools; to unforeseen exam content which may not have been reflected in the MasterClass11+ course; nor to any revised exam dates which may extend or restrict the length of the course. MasterClass 11+ also reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, during any pandemic to insist that children wear appropriate face coverings, sanitise hands regularly and comply with any other reasonable requests for the health and safety of themselves, other children, teachers and other users of the venues.© Eileen Stockil, January 2022
